Casual Observer
When it comes down to it
the definition of life
from an Observer
of a familiar reality
learns that we exist
and interact
to work for the sole purpose
of owning something
but in fact we own nothing
We arrive into this world naked
unaware that those before us
conceal the truth of our existence
and we carry out our lives
without any idea of who we really are
So we create titles
and define ourselves through our jobs
or how much money we make
money that holds
not even its own weight in paper
possessing no real value
except the collateral on your life
because of the greed of nations
Creating commodity based corporations
breeding the modern day slave
to the material world
you can’t take with you
If you cared for your neighbor
with as much emphasis as you put on nothing
perhaps the world would be different
but the pursuit of wealth
that only exists on Madison Avenue
and the commercials seen on television
has corrupted the minds
of even the most intelligent
of people
But in the end
Things are ONLY Things
and Things
CANNOT define you
And as the average human will work
and struggle to get by
to hold a small piece of the pie
that he will never get to eat
though has spent his entire life
working for just a bite
the dangling carrot
before his eyes
is forever unreachable
This scheme for order
keeping the obedient under thumb
but the reality is
we are all born wealthy
rich in our own unique way
free from the rules
which man governs man
And to believe otherwise
is the conditioning of the fool
unable to think for himself
spoon feed from birth
to be complacent with what he sees
and perceives to be fate
set forth
by the guidelines
of the administration
to protect us from everything
including ourselves
But how can an organization know
what we want from this life
without ever asking a single question
with pure intentions in mind
when ALL it seeks
is control
Instead we are told
what to think
how to act
what to buy
what to wear
where to go
and what to do
So in essence
we are not who we think we are
we have little knowledge
of our actual personalities
and are no more
than programmable robots
set to complete the next task at hand
So when we break free
of this paradigm
much to the administers chagrin
the new Observer
of a familiar reality
will finally discover
what it is like to live
and become human
