Cobwebs in the Sky
I look thru cobwebs in the sky,
I see the way I wish it could be,
Like two birds soaring up high,
Over foamy waves by the sea.
Together we'd fly side by side,
By the light of the silvery sun,
Casting shadows at low tide,
Dancing like we've just begun.
Flames of twilight inspire me,
To stop time & open my heart,
So my deep sorrows may flee,
Feeling brave till it's time to part.
Mixed up like sands in the sea,
One kiss from you is all takes,
A sweetness descends on me,
As my body tingles and shakes.
I've known men on many shores,
Yet none so wise and intense,
Lost at sea in a boat with no oars
I love from afar, makes no sense.
Now I ponder- what am l to do?
For it hurts me greatly to stay,
Yet far worse if I bid you adieu,
Dare I'll suffer deep either way.
It's not an idea I play with much,
In these sweet reveries of woe,
Will I ever your tender touch,
Or must I pretend, forever forgo?
I look at you- all haggard & hurt,
I long to touch ur whiskery face,
Just once this truth I shall assert,
I need your love & soft embrace.
