Grandmother Nature

Grandmother Nature

I hear your name on the autumn breeze
Your gentle voice singing through the trees
I see your face in every crashing wave,
On the shining shores and in the pouring rain
I still feel your warmth when the sun comes out,
When the snow falls down and the storm grows loud
I’m reminded of your love by all the funny little things
From the evergreens in winter to the apple trees in spring
I’ve kept your heart alive in mine in every minute of each day
I’ve held your spirit in my mind so that you’re never far away
And though my heart beats all the same in the vastness of your absence,
My bones have grown around the distant memories we had once
