Her Days of Bliss

Delicate she walks the earth
Unaware of where she’ll someday wander
Her father’s hand wrapped around her little one
Tiny feet scamper under
Lacy socks and bouncy blonde curls
Skipping along
Down halls, across streets, into parks and meadows
Socks and shoes kicked off
Freedom bursts from chubby cheeks
Laughter among chaos
Crystal blue eyes will never see
The firm hand that guides her safely, watchfully
On what she believes a carefree trek
Among the adults on this earth -
No longer children, on a blissful walk
