An Immortal Curse

Agony shatters broken walls,
fate's tricks play once more,
through which devastation seeps empty halls,
replaying unending memories of times before.

Burning anger, destroys,taints, souls
eternal life,whatever for,
but haunted grief, dragging hearts woes,
trickling through an once impenetrable door.

Imprisonment, the fallen soldier laments,
timeless curses, an abomination, they contend
starvation,desperation, desire for emptiness, he relents,
cruel, vindicative destiny forbids their end.

Striking, sudden, flashbacks descend nightly,
crashing,scarlet-stained scarring, unsuppressing memories long buried,
screams, tears spilling, past loves fading, fated to stand idly,
lives snatched, losses beared, weighted burdens carried.

Final chances, expressions remain unsaid,
mourn futures erased, never to be,
faces burned images as lives fled,
despite time, a gift stolen from he.

Empty lots cast, the final dance,
temptation consumes the wandering man,
an elephant, eternity, struck its stance,
finality, unending sleep, merely lasts minutes if it can.

Following battered corpses to that land,
paths ahead, the universe deemed fit to deny him,
offering twisted guidance, an inability to escape fate's hand,
a curse, gifted by a friend, prophesizes all to appear dim.

Wrought with a million years internal screaming,
pleaded escape from the path woven of sorrow,
watching those wishing, forever,seeking eternal bliss, dreaming
despite not understanding how, those who achieve, seek not to wake tomorrow.
