Interview with the dawn

by

Q: Why did you leave without saying anything?
A: Because I lack conviction. Because I am a smooth blank-faced facsimile of the person I once was. Because after all this time there is nothing left that could induce an honest response from me.
Q: What, for you, does the future hold?
A: The future is as empty and lifeless as I myself have become. There is nothing I can do to avoid this inexorable cold death. There is no one else who will exist in this realm save me.
Q: But you were trying so hard.
A: That isn't a question.
