Lesson of the Day

It was one rainy day
Passengers occupied the bus greedily
Some were lucky to take a seat
While some stood on their feet.

On that bus of congested crowd
Sat in the corner a man with head bowed
He seemed decently comfortable
Unlike us fighting the struggle.

Beside him was a woman, standing
The lone she on the bars, holding
Irritation was written on her face
Wished the man would give her the space.

Mean words were heard from her tongue
Generally saying nowadays men were ungentleman
Hearing her sentiments, the crowd agreed
Sent the man glares with harsh speed.

But the man just bowed lower than before
Plucked in his earphones, shutted the roar
The crowd went wild with the act
Blurted blasphemies meant to cut the brat.

The bus halted at the next stop
Many passengers carefully stepped out
The man also moved in his seat
But the next gesture made our hearts skip a beat.

Under his seat he grabbed two crutches
Placed them side by side with firm clutches
He stood, walked slowly, then shyly showed his ID
Shame was written on our faces as we read PWD.

As he descended, silence was heard
Probably identical thoughts within our heads
"This feels horrible, I wanna run
I am too quick to judge the man."
