Mama's Aprons

It was her favourite apron,
It had two pockets,
She would slide her hands in them when calling out for assistance,
She frowned when there was a delay.

Blue was her favourite colour,
So she often wore the blue apron,
Sometimes I told her to wear other colours,
But she looked at me and smiled.

Though she changed to other colours,
But it seemed the blue one had a hold on her,
So l got her two more blue aprons,
She thanked and embraced me,

They’re my keepsakes,
They remind me of her cuisine,
They bring back pleasant memories,
I still see her through them.
