The mines grow larger,

and the people run away.

Have you heard?

Nature has had enough!

The ground might open up

and swallow the city whole.

There aren’t enough midwives.

their patients ripping apart.

There used to be boarding schools here,

but we don’t talk about those.

There used to be more than one language here,

but please don’t bring that up.

We may have our problems,

but it’s nothing that can’t be solved.
