A quiet wait

I longed for a change, a stroke of fate,
A momentary opportunity, a glimpse of the boundary,
But it slipped—
Not into the ocean, but into silence,
Like a ghost consumed by shadow,
A soul lost without its name.
Still, I reach,
Hands reaching trembling towards an unseen light,
Far, always far,
But nearer than the breath between words.
One day, I’ll find it—
One light that shines only for me,
Unspoken, untold.
