Ripped Away
Every night I lie in bed
And a million thoughts flood my head.
a thought returns relentlessly.
a dream of the past I can't unsee.
it was one cold April foggy day, my loving heart you ripped away.
what did you do I cannot say, to earn a place deep in the ground.
all you did was cross a street, a driving car that did not see. It did not see you cross the street, and met you with a spray of sleet. Head on the car hit my mum, and tore away her arms and lung.
so that is why I cannot sleep, haunted by the dreams that creep.
