Sanctuary in a wintry night
How deep the sting,
O feet of tentative steps-
Or an anxious gait
Across crystaline ice.
Field adorned in frost
Unwanted but accepted
Presented on virgin night trail
Covering traces of paths walked long before.
Redemption is a welcoming light
From a fire-lit room
Afar in warm shelter,
Sanctuary in a wintry night.
Through misted window
Of condensed evening breath,
We converse passionatley-
Speaking fondly of the Lord
And melodic meter
Draws nigh wirh the voice
Of He most high
Abating frost with swelling heart.
And teardrop falls
Upon morose cheek
Remembering forever
God's peaceful forgiveness.
