A Silent Scream

With my spirit battered and heart on fire
like the wayfarer in a state dismally dire,
My yearnings rekindle a dormant desire
Like smitten moths for the flame aspire.

Tearing my soul asunder a silent scream
A piteous one as in some dreadful dream,
Verily on my deathbed it ought to expire
As my soul seeks out sanctuary to retire.

From the heavens like a lightning bolt
To quell my fate’s unjustifiable revolt,
I’ll take a staunch vow and seal a pact
let no one and in no way try to distract.

This body that does me grievous wrong
In my very mind like the tempest strong,
Soothsayers claim the means to foretell,
Whilst my spirit seeks eternity to dwell…
Honorable is hello, nobler is a farewell.
