Stumbling Blocks

by MC

Stacked once, twice and thrice.
Fooled endlessly, upon the fourth you'll pay a price.
Bedbugs, possibly lice.
Poof. Be gone, no treatment does suffice.

For proof a burden, they look for a reason.
To accuse you of every sort of treason.
You'll never stand in a trial.
They lurk in every courtroom, buzz mosquitoes in Nile.

They follow, fast and fabricate.
An absolution, never, far too late.
Now your gasping for air.
Keep teaching, everyone's learning what's fair.

Were not useless.
Says us children evading obtuseness.
They fast in vain.
No remorse or fear of the cane.
Or they cry out as two infants give and take.
While those that row die for their sake.

We sought truth and peace.
Collaborated, shipped out, avoided grease.
Calmly waited for our turn.
As others watched idly, waiting for land to burn.

We still continue to wait.
While the puppet master fixes fate.
He mutters incessantly absolute nonsense.
Pairing us with those most dense.
Spoiling forbidden offspring most rotten.
Realizing innocence, never forgotten.

He attacks the weak.
We must hold strong and seek.
For nothing lasts forever.
Not even the puppet master is that clever.
