THEY DO SAY

THEY DO SAY

They do say that love is blind
Well, perhaps partially sighted
With so few ever looking behind
It’s that feeling of being delighted
In the heart rather than the mind
And getting ever more excited
The deepest emotion of any kind
So many secret passions incited
Sense and sensibility non-aligned
As if some firecracker were ignited
After being so wined and dined
Their troth was then to be plighted
A together state that felt refined
When two souls can become united
From the date that was assigned
Could love really be unrequited
Perhaps maturing into a daily grind
As no cold logic was ever invited
And all the comfort one must find
It might feel like life is blighted
But one never should feel resigned
Such emotion should be indicted
Now live the life as was designed
Such that any wrongs are righted
And all commitments underlined
