I Have a New Garden

I have a new garden, and new is begun,
Such another garden know I not under sun.

In the middis of my garden is a peryr set,
And it wele none pear bern but a pear Jennet.

The fairest maid of this town preyid me
For to griffin her a grif of mine pery tree.

When I had hem griffid all at her will,
The wine and the ale she did in fill.

And I griffid her right up in her home
And by that day twenty wowkes it was quick in her womb.

That day twelfus month that maid I met,
She said it was pear Robert, but non pear Jennet.
