Oasis

Red sunrise,
After gray daydawn:
Shade-trees, limpid pools,
Apart from burning noon-tide:
Gold and carmine, blending
Into purple twilight:
Moonlight,
Caressing silent stars.

You, heart's-ease
Urging me forward,
Leading me onward
To the hopeful distances,
While the mist clears,
On the far horizon.
