Epilogue

Facts, moulder of security:
day from 9 to 5,
each man at his own work,
his second nature.
Neighbours out mowing the lawn,
familiar old faces
smiling. . . .
touch by vicarious warmth. . . .
into security
with banter!
the old
finally at peace
with their own
individuality,
the young
gentle towards each other,
huddling
but below, somewhat a part

in camera
an ectoplasm. . .

the mountains at night
the prototype of mass
a state incapable
of perturbation. . . .

each thing calm
in its own nature,
basking
as under the spell
of a moon
content
to make the rounds
of a fixed orbit
of identity.
Facts
moulder of peace

of dissent too,
the rock underneath

and trust
crying from the bowels
for an honest
leader
not too ambitious

facts facts
the mountain of the Lord.
