Of Wise Fooles, or Foolish Wise Men
Oh ! for an epigram to make the wise
(Like fooles) laugh at it till their hearts do breake:
Why then haue at it; O Inuention rise,
And tickle wisest heart-strings till they ake,
Make fooles of wise men onely with a iest!
That is a iest: yet 'tis in earnest so;
For none so wise but (like wise fooles at least)
Will laugh at fooles that wit in folly show
Especially, when they with foynes of wit,
The foes of their vpholders home dOhit.
