Vanishing Spring Moves to Regret

Oriole chattering shattering cruel dreams
Face worn with tears … Toilet in disarray
Bamboo shadows show thin in the faint moonbeams,
Heavy the evening smoke, muted the streams;
Swallows with wet beaks carry clay,
Bees with perfumed antennae flutter petals along
Lonely, despondent, with yearnings ever astray,
I finish singing the Pine Branch Song.
