The Girl In Long Stockings
The girl in long stockings,
Had thick ones, with flockings,
In patterns of diamonds,
Ivy, and garlands,
Ivory, or claret,
Like her favorite beret,
Or aquamarene,
Since she liked to be seen,
In long stockings.
"I'd rather wear them on my legs,"
Said she, "than leave them home on pegs.
Not short, but clear up past my knees,
To keep them warm in any breeze,
And not so clear,
When they are sheer,
But amber, smoke, or even gray,
Since that's the color for today!
'Cause like my friends,
It all depends,
On the color of my stockings."
