The Lily whispered: "From the sod"

The lily whispered: “From the sod
I leap into the light;
Thou churlish clod, to doubt thy God,
Nor know the noon from night.

“Look where I lay, but yesterday,
O thou of feeble faith,—
So thou shalt climb, and soar sublime
From the swift pause of death.”
