Fair Excellence! lamented, lov'd, rever'd—
By ev'ry claim and ev'ry wish endear'd
O'er thy dear mem'ry Fancy's pow'r shall dwell.
Thy cares maternal, and thy fond farewell,
Auspious counsel, thy example bright,
Our pleasing form and smiles of soft delight,
Any melting kindness for the child of woe—
All in the conscious heart their charm shall glow.
Oh, rich Inheritance!—Oh more than fame!
Oh wealth or titles—are thy virtues claim.
Thee a Mother's praise unfading bloom,
Hope Immortal flourish on her tomb!
