De Mexico Ha Venido
From Mexico there's just come a strange new decree,
That all the old women marry the young men so free,
But all the young men say this will not come to pass,
The spinsters they can marry old Barabas. die!
And Barabas he says, “No, it's not on the level—
Let the old women go and marry the devil.”
The devil he's not stupid, and straightway does cry,
“Before I'd marry that kind, I'd rather die!”
