The Night-Wind
Where the huge clouds part,
A voice from God's heart
Saith unto me,
In accents clear:
‘Who hath eyes, let him see;
Who hath ears, let him hear.’
The wind with delight
Shakes the mantle of night,
And roars through the trees
With the voice of the seas;
And it saith to my mind:
‘Some day thou shalt find
Thy home in the deep,
When death wakes thee from sleep.’
A voice from God's heart
Saith unto me,
In accents clear:
‘Who hath eyes, let him see;
Who hath ears, let him hear.’
The wind with delight
Shakes the mantle of night,
And roars through the trees
With the voice of the seas;
And it saith to my mind:
‘Some day thou shalt find
Thy home in the deep,
When death wakes thee from sleep.’
