Whenneso will wit overstieth,
Thenne is will and wit forlore;
Whenneso will his hete hieth,
Ther nis nowiht wit icore.
Ofte will to seorwe sieth,
Bute if wit him wite tofore;
Ac whenneso will to wene wrieth,
The ofo of wisdom is totore.
