Hymn

For A F RIEND'S G RADUATION .

ForTH from the calm and still retreat,
Into the world so wide;
Forth from the gently rocking fleet,
Into the rushing tide.

We know Thy seas are deep and wide,
But all their waves are Thine;
And over them, our course to guide,
Thy stars for ever shine.

Here have our eyes beheld their light,
Now by it let us fly,
Before the gale and through the night,
To do Thy bidding high;

To bear our little freight of truth
To every waiting shore;
To seek beyond the verge of youth,
For ever more and more.

Oh that each had a stancher ship,
A crew more sternly bound,
To follow the horizon's dip
And sail the world around!
