Sent to a Young Woman

That fording place in the Saho
where the plovers cry,
when will my horse
splash through its clear stream,
going to you?

Day and night
without distinction
my heart longs for you —
haven't you seen me
in your dreams?

When I least expected,
in dreams I saw
my darling's smile —
now it keeps
burning in my heart
