O, du kanntest Koch and Küche

Oh, you knew the cook and kitchen,
Every turn and nook and bin;
In our childhood plays and struggles
You would be the one to win.

Now you've won my own beloved,
That is droll; but, truth to tell,
This, my friend, is even droller:
I must smile and wish you well!
