To the Marquesse of Piscats Soule Endued in Her Life Tyme with Infinite Perfections as Her Divine Poems Doe Testefie. Sonet 3 -
Sonet 3.
Sweete soule which now with heauenly songs dost tell
Thy deare redeemers glorie and his prayse
No mervayle though thy skilfull Muse assayes
The songs of other soules there to excell.
For thow didst learne to sing devinely well
Long tyme before thy fayre and glittering rayes
Increast the light of heauen for euen thy layes
Most heauenly were when thow on earth didst dwell.
When thow didst on the earth sing poet-wise
Angells in heauen prayd for thy companie
And now thow singst with Angells in the skies
Shall not all poets prayse thy memorie
And to thy name shall not theyre workes giue fame
Whereas theyre workes be sweetned by thy name.
