Thy body
a white shell
Thy soul murmurs
Forever of seas unknown.

A ship
forsaken
By crew and captain
I complain
all day and night
in muddy shallow waters

Furled sails
rusted iron
My silence
Sorrow for deep waters
The champagne of night exploding light

I love thee
Thou sea-gull
about me
Never resting

O whither the island
The green crystal island
Where thy body has its polar bed
I love thee
Thou dream of white water
I hunger for thy depths
A fleet of white ships
flying orange and black flags
I would sail out to thee
And be lost in unknown waters
