S T . J OHN'S Tune .

We bless th' eternal Three,
The sacred Trinity,
The Father, Son, and Spirit's name;
The Son went thro' the flood,
The Father spake aloud,
And down the Holy Spirit came.

When Jesus had obey'd,
The voice from glory said,
" This is my own Beloved Son,
" In whom I am well pleas'd."
The Spirit then made haste,
With glory Jesu's head to crown.

How honourable then,
Ye ransom'd sons of men,
Is this delightful ordinance!
Who can withstand the pow'r
Of him we all adore,
When all his voices speak at once?

Obedience spake in Christ
When Jesus was baptiz'd;
Approving and applauding love
The Father's voice express'd;
The Spirit him confess'd,
Descending on him like a dove.
