Best of Painters come, pursue

Bring me hither Homers Lute,
Taught with mirth (not wars) to suit;
Reach a full Cup, that I may
All the laws of Wine obey,
Drink, and dance, and to the Lyre
Sing what Bacchus shall inspire.

Best of Painters come, pursue
What our Muse invites thee to,
And Lyeus , whose shrill Flute
Vies with her harmonious Lute;
Draw me a full City, where
Several shapes of mirth appear;
And the Laws of Love, if cold
Wax so great a flame can hold.
