The cool of the breeze on a warm afternoon
Caresses the curtains and rustles my hair.
Behind me, a squeak like a sudden raccoon,
And vertigo shatters me turning. The air
Caresses the curtains and rustles my hair.
I'm blinking to see someone else at my desk,
And vertigo shatters me, turning the air
Electric: it's me, but I'm huge and grotesque.
I'm blinking to see someone else at my desk
Away in the distance. The atmosphere seems
Electric: it's me, but I'm huge and grotesque,
Distorted like something I'd see in my dreams.
Away in the distance, the atmosphere seems
To shimmer and carry me out of the house.
Distorted like something I'd see in my dreams,
I'm grabbed. My perceptions are plucked like a louse.
To shimmer and carry me out of the house?
I struggle against it, but squirm as I might,
I'm grabbed. My perceptions are plucked like a louse.
Intent on my body, I squeakily fight.
I struggle against it, but squirm as I might,
The force is tenacious. And yet? So am I.
Intent on my body, I squeakily fight,
Dislodging those tendrils. I cannot deny
The force is tenacious. And yet? So am I.
Invisibly slipping, I stretch for my head,
Dislodging those tendrils. I cannot deny
I gasp as I stick to my skin. I'm not dead!
Invisibly slipping, I stretch for my head
And tumble at last through the back of my skull.
I gasp as I stick to my skin. I'm not dead!
Relief overwhelms me, beginning to mull
And tumble at last through the back of my skull.
Behind me, a squeak like a sudden raccoon;
Relief overwhelms me, beginning to mull
The cool of the breeze on a warm afternoon.
