She draws the face she remembers
with a steady and practiced hand
The image she visualizes
no longer exists in the present
only in memory
A young girl with chameleon eyes
color that defied definition
often changing to reflect her mood
Sorrow, regret, wisdom and joy
travel across her face
in a criss-crossing map of her life
