Toiling through dust of the earth that has borne us
Bathing ourselves in the dust when we die
Dreaming of stardust to fall gently o’er us
Dreaming, still dreaming of life in the sky
Blinking and burning, spirits and souls mussed
Blackening and smothered, attempting to fly
Dodging the deluge of darkness around us
Breaching the boundary and passing it by
Where will we wander if we explore thus?
And where will we end up if we don’t try?
