Oh, for Heaven's sake, What are young people being exposed to today
at colleges and universities across the land?
New and controversial ideas, Oh No, say it isn't true!
Oh why, Oh why, would we want them exploring the great troves of
Western and Non-Western thought?

My Lord, with such knowledge, they might form ideas of their own
or have opinions different than our own.
Oh Horror, they might learn about things like Ethics, Social Justice,
Science, and Equity.
Oh Gosh, Oh Golly, they might be open to things like tolerance and respect
for women, minorities, immigrants, LGBT+ people, the disabled, and more.

Warning, warning, when we give young people permission to think,
we can't control or predict the outcomes.
Warning, this is a Higher Ed warning:  Permission to think my turn
our wholesome young people from Red to Blue.

Oh me, Oh my, if my conservative daughter or son turned into a liberal,
I think I just might die.
Oh Hell, I think I'd rather find out he or she was gay
or married to a spouse of a different race than have him or her
become a damned liberal.  What would we do?
