The Night's Silence
I sat in the stillness
Waiting for the last of the crickets to leave
When the night was quiet
When even the ghosts were asleep
I let my body become a harmony
And my wrists a violin
As I took the center stage, and all the spotlight
While all audiences stared in anticipation
And just like that I struck my bow
Again
And again
And again
And until I didn’t have the courage to go on.
Once again, I sat in the stillness
Waiting for the last of the audience to disappear
When the night was silent
When I went asleep
