I.
A NIGHT turned to terror compendio!
Stalked through the halls of a dense prism by a demon in stilettos
I never planned to fall for such a typical disguise,
But your ambiance was soft enough for my eyes
I'm chasing my sanity through the hallways of an empty corridor...
And now that I recall, those rooms weren't empty for
I was entertaining an audience
Dancing alongside marionettes and handcrafted puppets
Strings attached to each of my exposed limbs
Committed to a sonnet of deadly sins
With every three steps to the right,
A twirl--A spin in its wake
In transition, I retreat two steps back
The crowd shakes
With every jump; the crowd sneers
And every perfected landing; the crowd cheers
I am drenched in fame and eccentric taste
And as soon as it appeared; the setting erased.
II.
I lost myself dancing in a dark hallway of your fantasies,
Chasing silhouettes until the candlelight died out.
Every twist and turn in this Labyrinth of Lust is vague and yet--
Strangely familiar, and I want out.
III.
The dungeon door drags open and stalls halfway
In waltz glass stilettos gliding on a worn granite pathway
I'm tranced by the elegance dancing before my eyes;
Trapped in a realm of Hello's and Goodbye's
It's a dance to the death--
I'm suffocating, losing my breath
The air turns cold and damp
I attempt to exit, but I can't.
With three steps to the right,
A twirl--Aspin in its wake
In transition, she retreats two steps back
The crowd shakes
Advancing onward; the crowd applauds
Now I wear the limelight as a glimmering visage.
I reach outward to grab her hand through the mirror,
But her skin melts, with the touch of my hand, like a hot wax exterior--
Glass shards shatter into the frigid black atmosphere
As hypnosis loses its hold and I endlessly search for a way out of here.
