Who's for Dinner
Sure
we ate a few,
everyone did,
they were so sweet,
back then we didn't know,
and I don't think
those spun-sugar blooms,
green-veined nodders, are
you know, animals anyway,
not for real, still less thinkers,
not then, not now.
I heard any fone's “A.I.”
can Turing with us real folk;
these fat wobblies
do no better.
Two plus friggin' six,
and when's the 'vater due,
my shirt knows that:
has it got rights?
And the taste of 'em!
It's not like anything you've had,
not lamb or scallops, veal or cheesecake,
not fruit nor fowl,
but good? Man!
You gonna turn your back
on all that goodness?
I see you know, you had a bite,
maybe just once but you
want more, you're holding back.
See I got a friend can get 'em,
many as you want,
if you got a taste for 'em,
just don't ask questions,
then you tell me:
are they people?
