A Pathetic Heart
A pathetic heart of love and lust,
To whom shall I this mockery entrust?
Shall I open it to all at hand?
Or to one specific traitor's plan!
For I do warn you of broken hearts,
A tainted end where misery starts.
It lures the likes of you and I,
With pulsating beats, a whispered lie!
Take not from me without intent,
For I desire love with full consent.
I bit the apple given by desire,
And saw the snake behind your attire!
A pathetic heart of love and lust,
I lock away to rot in dust.
And should I ever open again to chance,
My heart had better be well advanced!
