Left Alone At Midnight
Wandering in a dark cold midnight,
the only respite being the faint moonlight.
Soft wind gushing in ear,
giving an immene feeling of someone hiding very near.
Carrying the fear in your heart,
pierced by sudden noises like a dart.
Always wishing someone to be with,
and letting go what is just an uncanny myth.
Holding on to the only way,
praying to the Lord to show the morning ray.
Preventing oneself from bursting into a cry,
sweating profusely and never staying dry.
Getting flashback of all bad that happened,
and what all could happen.
Cooking you up like in a hot air oven,
every surrounding object now seems as a bad omen.
When darkness has taken its heavy toll,
your heart beat is on an upward roll.
Alas, Birds on the branches start chirping,
alongside the leaves went crackling.
Clouds changes its color,
from black and gray to red.
The darkness of the night broken into sheds,
daylight gaining its full strength.
Regaining all the lost power,
having faced the worst gut-wrenching fright.
You take a vow in a warm soothing shower,
to never be left alone at midnight.
