They have unusual names,
well, at least at times they do,
characters one finds on comic stand,
smartphone, internet, sitcom suite,
the stuff of Blue Ray disc, DVD,
CD, theaters, stage play, radio,
aptly-named media of every kind,
reputation, good, great, superb,
it’s their brilliant calling card,
eccentric daredevil to the very last,
often heart of gold exploits on large screen,
we, the keen observers wowed,
by fantastic death-defying stunt,
carefree casual car chase cruise,
one can enjoy among the movie going public,
that feat outside the normal realm,
mission undercover, covert operation,
high risk blue sky acrobat,
are in their element beyond a shadow,
reckless rescue plot whose volte-face in a flash,
though implausible can gladden,
in an ever shifting edge of seat way,
think for just awhile as you reflect,
as though recall had carte blanche,
which it sometimes might when left askew,
how many voids do classic films bridge?
How many lives do they uplift?
from hidebound ennui so dull,
patronizing cognoscenti waffle round fanciful refuge,
who’d prefer much-vaunted high brow speech,
over instantaneous joy for eye and ear,
thou shall not liturgy as standard,
yet stranded vessel outlier nitpick,
censor board let hug the limelight,
foolish are the folk who cower,
under inner bully crude prompt,
as for outer bullies treat them with disdain.
Go back to entertainment home or city based,
allow your favorite comic figure glow,
shriek, laugh, smirk. hoot, bellow,
and when the case arises do the opposite,
weep, sob, shake, mourn, shiver,
whatever is most fitting
