Green tracks of grass
wind across the yard
in heavy wet snow
that fell in the night

children work
at well planned task
as they do build
of fortress strong

and snowballs make
not just a few
has plans they lay
for their attack

across the way
another yard in
in same wet snow
others dream

they pile the snow
and shape it well
to beauty make
in morning light

snow did fall
on every one
and they each
with it could build

some did build
with thoughts of war
others to attack
and to destroy

and others found
the stuff of dreams
that they might build
that beauty might be

snow did fall
did not create
it simply was
