Member Poem

A delight to see in any city,
town or thriving urban centre,
especially when sunny climes prevail,
I refer to spewing water fountains,
their presence which none can ignore,
patently a source of cheap amusement,
it has deft functions so  numerous on show,
without doubt a breathtaking visual,
synonymous with rapture,
jocundity an obvious opportune event,
who can resist the sense of play,
the glistened watered loops engender,
indeed who could be so immune,
to their runaway lustrous  charm,
one can read several  tracts on their origin,
that catalogue the illustrious growth of such ornaments,
remember this when adults revel as they should,
children like their parents with abandon do likewise,
think about the soaring midday jets, streams and wetness,
go join in the festivity and fun
