39 Perseverance -

Perseverance.

The crown is set, upon the head
of persevering grace
Such, and such, only, shall be led
to see, his blessed face

Except thou hold out, to the end
thy labour will be lost
But if on god, thou still attend
the gain, will quit thy cost.

Tis this will bring thee, true renown
when thou hast run thy race
Then thou shalt surely, be set down
in gods, prepared place.

This blessed grace, it will not tire
with hardships in its way
Although it goe through, durt & mire
t'will hold out, all the day

Those that on god, to wait, and cling
ther strength, renew, they shall
Mounting up, as on eagles wing
from him, they shall not fall.

Such they shall run, & not be weary
they shall walk, and not faint
In their march, to eternity
where saincts, and angells, haunt.

Tis by thy mighty power alone
through faith, that I am keept
To glory, and salvation
and comforts, fully heap't.

Hold out my soull unto the end
with renew'd patience
Looking to Jesus, thy best freind
with steady confidence.

Behold he saith, I come quickly
hold that fast, which thou hast
That no man take thy victory
and Crown away at last
