48

O Love, in our boat together,
How wrapt in each other were we;
In the silent evening weather
Drifting far o'er the sea.

In haze the moon came stealing
Round the beauteous spirit-isle;
Whence lovely sounds were pealing,
And light mists danced the while.

More sweet grew that music peerless,
And waving, swayed the haze;
But we passed by and cheerless
Drifted on wide sea-ways.
