His Fame shall to succeeding Times survive,
And in great Varrus he remains alive;
Varrus! the elder Palæmon,
For sure, I think, their Souls were One,
One undistinguish'd Flame, till sent
Into a sep'rate Tenement:
Yet there the Thoughts, and Wills, were One,
A true fraternal Union.
And gen'rous Varrus, since his Friend is gone,
Performs the same good Acts Palæmon would have done,
Cease then your Grief, and with us sing
A Hymn to God our King;
Praise his Mercy, praise his Love!
Who died to save,
Palæmon from the Grave,
And purchas'd with his Blood, a Seat for him above.
