69 Grace Better than Peace June 22 73 -

Grace better then peace June 22 73

Oh what is peace, compar'd with grace
Though I ne're see good day
Whilst runing, in, my weary race
thy grace, in me display

I'de rather have, much holynese
That like thee, I might grow
Then for to have the fullest mese
of comfort, on me flow

I would have both, Lord, if I might
that I thy praise, may sound
But if thou shalt deny, the light
of joy, lett grace abound

If thou seest fitt, for to refuse
both, on me to bestow
Grace is the thing, that I doe chouse
though I in sorrow sow

I'de rather have, but litle peace
and grace, in a full measure
Desiring it may still encrease
unto a richer tresure

Then to have joy, fill full my cup
and have but litle grace
The lese I have, the more s laid up
gainst I have run my race

Lett me soe thrive, in holynese
I may'nt be leane, &lank,
I'de trust thee, with my hapynese
to store itt up, in bank
