82 An Addition of Wonder -
An addition of wonder.
But why shouldst thou such grace bestow
And bind thy self by promise soe.
That wee may now our right demand
(Though not from meritt) att thy hand.
By promise thou a deptor then
Art now become to sinfull men.
Who were in dept, soe far before
And can soe greatly, on the score.
That ages of eternity
Could nere hav clear'd us thorowly.
If thou hadst only sett us free
From dept t'had been great grace in thee.
But that thou shouldst become to us
A deptor, this should make us blush.
How doth thy grace, and love, shine forth
In giving both, thy word, & oath.
That those that unto thee belong
Might have strong consolation.
From each ofence, thou dost discharge
And unto us givst bonds, of large.
Donations, which thou wilt bestow
Both here, and when from hence we goe.
Each of our depts, thou dost remove
Wee owe thee, nothing now, but love.
And filliall obedience
Which thou hast promis'd to dispence.
And give to us, that we may bring
It unto thee, our sacred king.
And here we shall, run on in dept
If we, through grace, to heaven get.
Whilst we the fruit of love, shall reap
And thou new favours, still shalt heap.
Our depts shall grow, & multiply
To'th ages of eternity.
But why shouldst thou such grace bestow
